Last updated: April 14, 2025
BKV Energy Plus is a benefits program offered by BKV-BPP Retail, LLC (d/b/a BKV Energy or “we,” “our,” or “us”) that gives BKV Energy Plus members the opportunity to take advantage of various benefits across the BKV Energy ecosystem.
The BKV Energy Plus program is subject to these terms and conditions and BKV Energy’s website Terms of Use.
1. Eligibility:
BKV Energy Plus members are defined as customers who meet any of the following eligibility criteria:
- Active contract on a Bluebonnet plan.
- Active contract on a Bluebonnet Green plan.
- Active contract on a Daisy, Daisy Green, Verbena, Verbena Green, Lantana, or Lantana Green plan while paying the BKV Energy Plus monthly add-on fee. BKV Energy Plus member benefits will be lost during periods in which the customer has not paid the BKV Energy Plus monthly add-on fee.
You may only enroll in BKV Energy Plus if you are legally authorized to accept and be bound by BKV Energy’s electricity service contract terms and are of legal age to enter a contract with BKV Energy.
Eligibility requirements to take advantage of specific benefits offered within BKV Energy Plus vary. For more information on eligibility requirements for each specific benefit, read the terms specific to that benefit below.
2. BKV Energy Plus Benefits:
- Reduce Your Rate:
Eligible BKV Energy Plus members may receive offers, at BKV Energy’s sole discretion, to terminate their existing electricity plan and enroll in a new plan with a lower energy charge, without incurring cancellation fees or other penalties. There is no early termination fee associated with accepting a Reduce Your Rate offer.
These offers may be extended when market conditions allow for a lower rate than the rate applicable under the customer’s current contract. There is no guarantee that a Reduce Your Rate offer will be extended.
Reduce Your Rate contract offers will have a minimum 12-month term length. BKV Energy may adjust the minimum term length for Reduce Your Rate offers at its sole discretion.
Eligible customers will be notified of Reduce Your Rate offers via the email associated with their account.
By enrolling in a new contract, the customer agrees to the terms of the new plan. Upon acceptance of the Reduce Your Rate offer, customers will receive a new set of plan documents including the Electricity Facts Label, Your Rights as a Customer, and Terms of Service. After accepting a Reduce Your Rate offer, customers retain access to BKV Energy Plus benefits as long as they continue to uphold eligibility requirements.
In addition to the standard BKV Energy Plus eligibility requirements, customers will only receive Reduce Your Rate offers after three consecutive months of service and concurrent BKV Energy Plus eligibility. Customer accounts must be in good standing to receive Reduce Your Rate offers. Accounts in good standing do not have past-due or overdue bill balances.
If current market conditions allow for a lower rate than the rate applicable under the customer’s current contract, then a Reduce Your Rate offer may be extended. There is no guarantee that a Reduce Your Rate offer will be extended.
- ElectroShare:
Eligible BKV Energy Plus members may receive an annual payout, at BKV Energy’s sole discretion, each November as a reward for their loyalty to BKV Energy. The program is intended to reward customer loyalty so that customers with longer tenure receive larger payouts. There is no guarantee that any customer will receive a payout.
Eligible customers will be notified of ElectroShare payout distributions via the email associated with their account.
BKV Energy reserves the right to adjust ElectroShare payout distribution methods.
ElectroShare payouts are calculated based on tenure and other factors determined at BKV Energy’s sole discretion.
In addition to the standard BKV Energy Plus eligibility requirements, customers will become eligible for ElectroShare after six consecutive months of service and concurrent BKV Energy Plus eligibility. Customer accounts must be in good standing to receive ElectroShare. Accounts in good standing do not have past-due or overdue bill balances.
ElectroShare payouts are distributed annually in the month of November. BKV Energy reserves the right to adjust the timing, frequency, and calculation methodology of ElectroShare payout distributions at any time without notice.
- Save Now Pay Later:
Eligible BKV Energy Plus members may defer payment of a current billing cycle’s charges, excluding the cost of the BKV Energy Plus monthly add-on for customers who are eligible by paying that fee, and distribute the deferred amount evenly across the subsequent six billing cycles. No interest, fees, or penalties will be applied to the deferred balance, provided that all payments are made in accordance with the Save Now Pay Later plan terms and conditions.
The Save Now Pay Later program is separate from BKV Energy’s Deferred Payment Plan program. The Save Now Pay Later program is an at-will deferred payment plan intended to offer bill payment flexibility to eligible customers. The Deferred Payment Plan program is meant to assist customers who may be struggling to pay their bills on time and in full. Qualifying customers may be eligible for BKV Energy’s Deferred Payment Plan program without BKV Energy Plus membership. The Deferred Payment Plan program is not a benefit of BKV Energy Plus.
In addition to the standard BKV Energy Plus eligibility requirements, customers will become eligible to take advantage of Save Now Pay Later after three consecutive months of service and concurrent BKV Energy Plus eligibility. Customer accounts must be in good standing to take advantage of Save Now Pay Later. Accounts in good standing do not have past-due or overdue bill balances. Customers with fewer than three consecutive months of service and concurrent BKV Energy Plus eligibility may be eligible for Save Now Pay Later depending on credit status and prior electricity bill payment history at the sole discretion of BKV Energy.
Save Now Pay Later may be utilized once per 12-month period.
- 30-Day Power Pilot:
Eligible BKV Energy Plus members may take advantage of the 30-Day Power Pilot within the first 30 days of service, allowing them to cancel their BKV Energy electricity contract without incurring an early termination fee. All charges incurred from electricity usage during the period before terminating early remain the customer’s responsibility and must be paid in accordance with the plan’s terms of service.
There are no additional eligibility requirements to take advantage of the 30-Day Power Pilot benefit beyond the standard BKV Energy Plus eligibility requirements.
- VoltPoints:
Eligible BKV Energy Plus members may participate in the VoltPoints rewards program. Eligible customers receive 25 points per month and can earn additional points based on specified activities or account actions, as determined by BKV Energy. VoltPoints may be deposited into the customer’s account upon commencement of electricity service, which is defined as the date when power is successfully delivered to the customer’s service address and the account is deemed active by BKV Energy.
Customers may access the VoltPoints program at https://bkvenergyrewards.com.
Accrued points may be redeemed for rewards in accordance with the program’s terms and conditions. Points may be used to enter daily, weekly, and monthly giveaways with prizes that may include gift cards, smart TVs, laptops, and cash. Prizes are subject to change and this list may not reflect the current prize offering.
VoltPoints have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be modified or discontinued at BKV Energy’s sole discretion. The VoltPoints program is subject to these terms and conditions.
The standard BKV Energy Plus eligibility requirements apply to the VoltPoints program. BKV Energy reserves the right to revoke access to the points program and all points accrued in the case of an account that falls out of good standing. Accounts in good standing do not have overdue or past-due balances.
- Contract Consultation:
Eligible BKV Energy Plus members may take advantage of Contract Consultation, an optional advisory service offered to provide guidance on available electricity plans during a customer’s plan renewal period. The renewal period is defined as the 90 days leading up to the end of a customer’s current contract.
This service is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal or financial advice. Any decisions regarding plan selection remain solely the responsibility of the customer, and participation in Contract Consultation does not modify the terms of any existing or future service agreement with BKV Energy.
In addition to the standard BKV Energy Plus eligibility requirements, eligibility for Contract Consultation begins 90 days prior to the scheduled end date of the customer’s current electricity service agreement.
3. Additional Terms
- BKV Energy in its sole discretion may remove you from the BKV Energy Plus benefits program and terminate all benefits if you are a BKV Energy Plus member in “bad standing” or if BKV Energy no longer believes you meet the eligibility criteria.
