On the account details page, select the radio button for “I qualify for a deposit waiver.” After you click the large, yellow “Submit” button at the bottom of the page, you will be prompted to upload or email the required proof for a deposit waiver. Forms of proof include: valid ID such as driver license or passport, signed certification letter from the Texas Council on Family Violence, or a letter of credit from your previous provider.

Texans who are 65 years of age or older are eligible for no deposit electricity. You must provide a valid form of identification (e.g. driver license or passport). Additionally, if you have a history of good standing with your previous provider, meaning you did not have any late payments in the last 12 months. Please provide a letter of credit from your previous provider to prove your good standing. If you are a victim of family violence and provide a signed certification letter from the Texas Council on Family Violence, you also qualify to have your deposit waived.
