Electricity rates in Arlington are influenced by factors such as supply and demand, weather conditions, and market trends, leading to potential fluctuations. A fixed-rate plan safeguards you from unexpected price increases, ensuring a stable rate regardless of these weather fluctuations.

Arlington, strategically located between Dallas and Fort Worth, offers a dynamic urban-suburban lifestyle that combines accessibility with entertainment, economic opportunity, and residential variety. As one of the largest cities in the DFW metroplex, Arlington is well-known for being the home of major attractions including AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys), Globe Life Field (home of the Texas Rangers), Six Flags Over Texas, and Hurricane Harbor, making it a top regional destination for tourism and sports.

The housing market in Arlington is diverse, with options ranging from affordable apartments and townhomes to family-friendly subdivisions and upscale neighborhoods like Viridian. The cost of living is moderate relative to the broader DFW area, though rising property values in well-developed areas should be considered by prospective homeowners.

Arlington’s economy is supported by key sectors such as entertainment, higher education, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. Major employers include the University of Texas at Arlington, General Motors’ Arlington Assembly Plant, Texas Health Resources, and Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. The city also benefits from its central location within the Metroplex, making it a viable base for commuters and remote workers.

The climate in Arlington is typical of North Texas, featuring hot, dry summers—with July and August temperatures frequently exceeding 97°F—and mild winters with occasional cold fronts. Residents should budget for increased electricity usage during peak summer months due to high air-conditioning demand. Severe thunderstorms and brief winter weather events also occur periodically.

Arlington offers ample green space and outdoor recreation through parks like River Legacy Park, a 1,300-acre natural area with biking trails, picnic spots, and access to the Trinity River. The city also supports a growing arts and culture scene with venues like the Arlington Museum of Art and Levitt Pavilion, which hosts free outdoor concerts and events throughout the year.

Public transportation in Arlington is limited, with most residents relying on personal vehicles for commuting. However, rideshare services and local transit pilot programs are expanding to improve accessibility. For those seeking a centrally located city with entertainment appeal, economic diversity, and suburban comfort, Arlington presents a highly livable option in the heart of North Texas.

Arlington is a major urban center recognized for its concentration of entertainment, sports, and advanced industry. With a population nearing 400,000, Arlington ranks among the largest cities in Texas and plays a significant role in regional economic activity, higher education, and manufacturing.

The city is a premier destination for large-scale events and tourism, anchored by AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys), Globe Life Field (home of the Texas Rangers), and Six Flags Over Texas. These venues draw millions of visitors annually and support a robust hospitality, retail, and service economy.

Arlington also has a strong academic and research footprint through the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), one of the largest public universities in the state. UTA contributes significantly to the local workforce in engineering, healthcare, business, and data science, and is a key driver of innovation and urban development.

Beyond tourism and education, Arlington maintains a solid base in aerospace and defense manufacturing, with major employers tied to engineering, aviation, and advanced logistics. The city’s diversified economy is further supported by healthcare providers, corporate offices, and a growing tech presence.

The transportation infrastructure is well-developed, with major highways, rail access, and proximity to regional airports enabling strong connectivity for both commuters and businesses. The city offers a mix of housing options, from established neighborhoods to new residential developments, meeting demand from both families and young professionals.

Avoid these common electricity plan traps in Arlington

Electricity providers in Arlington use complex plans that can drive up costs. Discounted rates at certain hours, bill credits, or wholesale pricing often come with hidden fees or penalties. Deviating from strict usage targets can result in higher bills. To avoid surprises, consumers should opt for fixed-rate plans with clear pricing.

So far BKV has the best rates I’ve found and no base fee. As I landlord I like the option of signing up for 3 months at locked in rate and if things go well and I get a renter in earlier it’s only a $20 month cancellation. After snowpocalypse in Texas last year people with a variable rate got astronomical bills!

BKV Energy is a good choice for electric co. I have been very pleased. They communicate via email. As busy as I am, it is nice to get emails reminding me my bill is due. Things like that. And I get rewards just for being a customer. I just received a virtual debit card worth $45. Thanks BKV.
