This PUCT license covers the DBA names Champion Energy Industrial Services I, Champion Energy Industrial Services II, Champion Energy Industrial Services III, and Hello Energy.

Champion Energy was founded by a management team and a group of independent private investors, then later acquired by Calpine in 2015. In January 2026, Calpine was acquired by Constellation Energy.

“Absolutely the worst energy company I’ve ever been through, I have a 650 sq ft apt that they are charging me over $400 a month for. Went on vacation for 2 weeks unplugged everything turned off ac/heater all lights every electronic turned off and my bill still comes out to $350/month. When asked for a specialized bill I was charged $144 for electric usage (which I used none as I was not home) plus an extra $320 for “miscellaneous charge” I was given a bill this month for $289 that I paid and received the email confirming my bills were all paid and had $0 due only for them to still cut my power off the next day and hit we with another $168. Never if my life have I had such a terrible electric bill, my old home was 1,700 sq ft with electric bill at most $250. Champions is by far the worst company to go through.”

“Champion Energy Services proved to be an absolute disaster and a costly mistake. The initial competitive rate they advertised was a total deception, quickly replaced by bizarre, high variable charges and hidden monthly fees that turned my bill into a massive rip-off. To make matters worse, when I decided to cancel, I was slammed with an egregious Early Termination Fee (ETF)—a fee they never clearly explained or disclosed to me upon sign-up. The fact that this fee is structured to effectively lock customers into a bad contract “for years” is completely predatory and unacceptable. This company lacks basic transparency, offers terrible value, and uses punitive, undisclosed fees to profit from customer frustration. I strongly advise everyone to avoid Champion Energy Services unless you enjoy being financially misled and trapped by unseen contract terms.”

Champion Energy charges a 5% late payment penalty for late, delinquent or past due balances, less any charges for which you have already been assessed a late fee.

Champion will also assess a $30 insufficient funds fee per transaction for any transaction not processed due to non-sufficient funds, payment stops or chargebacks, or credit availability for any method of payment including checks, bank drafts or credit card transactions.

At signup, they may require a deposit to begin service.
