Barend (Barry) VanderHorst is a versatile leader with over 25 years of experience in the North American deregulated energy markets. In his role as Director at BKV Energy, he is responsible for portfolio management, regulatory compliance, and new business development including M&A.
Prior to joining BKV Energy, Barry held various leadership roles within public and privately-held retail energy providers, both in start-up and business turnaround settings. He is a dynamic and forward-thinking P&L owner with a track record of driving customer, revenue, and profit growth, executing acquisitions and divestitures, and continuous operational improvement that drive productivity and reduce costs.
Education
Barry received his BA, Business Economics from the College of Wooster, Ohio.
In his free time, Barry enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. His interests include travelling, water sports (boating, sailing, and kitesurfing), and road/mountain biking.
