Today we emailed nearly 1,800 eligible Bluebonnet plan customer and BKV Energy Plus subscribers offers to reduce their electricity rates.

Offers Extended: 1,792
Largest Reduction: 3.69¢ per kWh
Average Reduction: 1.14¢ per kWh

This is our largest batch of Reduce Your Rate offers we’ve extended since we launched this program.

We’re so excited to provide customers the opportunity to switch to a cheaper plan in the middle of their contract without paying an early termination fee.

Why do we offer the Reduce Your Rate benefit?

Wholesale electricity market prices are constantly changing in Texas.

Customers can sign up for a fixed-rate 12 month plan in the month of May, and rates may drop 3 months later.

Normally, you’d have to cancel that plan early and pay an expensive early termination fee to switch to a cheaper rate.

That’s not a very good experience, is it?

That’s we why launched Reduce Your Rate. We want to give Texans the opportunity to take advantage of potential decreases in market prices. Even if they’re sign up on a fixed-rate plan.

Who is eligible to receive a Reduce Your Rate offer?

To be eligible for Reduce Your Rate, you must meet a few criteria:

Enrolled in a Bluebonnet or Bluebonnet Green plan, OR paying for the BKV Energy Plus monthly subscription on a different plan
Must have at least 3 months of consecutive service
Account must be active and in good standing (no overdue balance)

Customers who meet these eligibility criteria are automatically reviewed for Reduce Your Rate opportunities monthly.
