Today, we offer nearly 900 eligible Bluebonnet customers the opportunity to switch to a cheaper rate in the middle of their contract.

Why do we offer our customers rate reductions?

It’s simple: because we can!

In the electricity world, prices are always fluctuating due to changes in weather and the cost to generate energy at different power plants like wind farms, solar farms, and natural gas plants.

When wholesale electricity prices decrease below where prices sat when a customer originally signed up, we can offer the opportunity to switch to a more affordable electricity plan.

Today, we sent 894 customers emails and texts notifying them of their chance to save big on energy. If they accept the offer, we will cancel their current plan and switch them to a plan with a cheaper energy charge.

At BKV Energy, we proactively look to help our customers save money on a monthly basis!

Who is eligible to receive Reduce Your Rate offers?

To be eligible for Reduce Your Rate, you must meet a few criteria:

Enrolled in a Bluebonnet or Bluebonnet Green plan, OR paying for the BKV Energy Plus monthly subscription on a different plan
Must have at least 3 months of consecutive service
Account must be active and in good standing (no overdue balance)

Customers who meet these eligibility criteria are automatically reviewed for Reduce Your Rate opportunities monthly.
