Why do we offer Reduce Your Rate to our customers?

Transparency, fairness, and affordability drive everything we do at BKV Energy.

The cost of electricity in Texas is always in motion. Weather patterns demand, and changing economics of power generation all play a role in driving prices up or down.

A fixed-rate plan already shields customers from price spikes, but our Reduce Your Rate benefit goes a step further. It means Texans can benefit when prices fall, too.

Here’s how it works: when wholesale electricity costs dip below what a customer is paying, we look for a chance to pass those savings on by moving them to a plan with a lower energy charge.

This past week, we reached out to 388 customers by email and text to let them know a better rate was available. Once they accept, we swap their current plan for the more affordable one. No hoops to jump through.

We don’t sit back and wait for customers to find savings on their own. At BKV Energy, we go looking for them.

Who is eligible to receive Reduce Your Rate offers?

To be eligible for Reduce Your Rate, you must meet a few criteria:

Enrolled in a Bluebonnet or Bluebonnet Green plan, OR paying for the BKV Energy Plus monthly subscription on a different plan
Must have at least 3 months of consecutive service
Account must be active and in good standing (no overdue balance)

Customers who meet these eligibility criteria are automatically reviewed for Reduce Your Rate opportunities monthly.
