New BKV Energy Electricity Bill Designs Are Here!

This past month, we refreshed the look of our electricity bills. Here’s what’s new!

The new design is clearer, more concise, and easier to read, so you can quickly find what matters most, like your current charges, due date, and usage details.

Our new electricity bill layouts are also greener. By optimizing the layout and reducing page length, we’re using less paper and ink for every bill that we mail across the state of Texas. It’s a small change that makes a big difference.

If you receive your bill by email or view it in the customer portal, you’ll notice the same updated bill format there, too.

Due Date: The date your bill is due.
Amount Due: The total amount due on your bill.
Usage: The number of kilowatt-hours (kWh) consumed during the billing period. This directly correlates to your bill amount. The more kilowatt-hours used during a billing period, the higher the bill.
Usage History: This chart shows you the last 12 months of kilowatt-hour consumption. You can see how your electricity usage changes over time and understand why your bill amount changes as well.
Energy Charges: Energy charges are the cost per kilowatt-hour used during a billing period. This is what you pay BKV Energy.
Delivery Charges: TDU Charges, Pass-Through Charges, or Delivery Charges — they are all the same thing. These are the fees paid directly to your regional utility, such as Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP North, AEP Central, Texas-New Mexico Power, and Lubbock Power & Light. These rates are the same within each utility region, but are still tied to your kilowatt-hour consumption. BKV Energy doesn’t receive a penny of these charges; we pass them straight to your utility.
