In some cases, we require a deposit to enroll a new customer in BKV Energy’s residential electricity services. However, you may be eligible to have your deposit waived.
65 Years or Older
If you (or your spouse) are 65 years of age or older you are eligible to have your deposit waived. During the enrollment process, please upload a valid form of identification (such as state issued driver’s license/ID or passport). You must not have any overdue electricity payments to qualify.
Victim of Family Violence
If you are a victim of family violence, you are eligible to have your deposit waived. Please download this PDF file of a certification letter from the Texas Council on Family Violence, fill it out, and get it signed by the appropriate parties. Then, during the enrollment flow process, please upload the completed certification letter and we will be happy to get you enrolled.
History of Good Standing
If you’ve had exemplary payment history on your electricity bills for the last 12 consecutive months, you are eligible to have your deposit fee waived. Please contact your current electricity provider to provide a credit reference letter on your behalf confirming that you have not had a late bill payment more than once in the last 12 months.
Meet Credit Requirements
Provide your SSN during the enrollment process to allow us to run a soft credit check, which will not impact your score. If you meet our credit score requirements, you will not be required to pay a deposit to begin services.
If you have any questions about waiving your electricity deposit, please contact us at 855-258-4797.
